Glen O’Kelly

Glen has worked with forest industries for 20+ years, from family forestry in New Zealand, to management consulting with McKinsey & Company in Sweden.

Key experience includes:

  • Senior expert with McKinsey & Company’s Pulp & Paper practice – management consulting and market analyses.
  • Global Research Manager with McKinsey & Company Basic Materials Institute – Leading team of 30+ analysts and junior consultants in metals, mining and forest products.
  • Client Capabilities Manager with McKinsey & Company – Developing a new solutions for operational benchmarking of pulp and paper manufacture.
  • Consultant with RISI Bioenergy, authoring European Biomass Review.
  • Forestry operations and performance improvement roles with leading forest owners, Carter Holt Harvey (NZ) and Stora Enso Skog (Sweden).

Glen holds a MSc Forestry Economics, BSc Forestry Science and BSc Commerce from Canterbury University, New Zealand.

 

Alva O’Kelly

Alva is a student, who works part-time at O’Kelly Acumen with research and data management. She is currently studying towards a Masters of Chemical Engineering at University.

Alva helps build the datasets that accompany our Focus Reports, compiles macroeconomic data, and has helped research qualitative aspects of national forest industries (including innovation, policy, and trade).
